Isabelle had never really known much about her grandmother’s family. Her grandmother, who raised her, rarely spoke of her past, and when she did, it was vague. But when Isabelle inherited the old family farmhouse in a secluded village, she took it as an opportunity to learn more about her roots.

One evening, Isabelle visited the tree and found a hidden compartment within its trunk, containing an old journal belonging to her great-great-grandfather. The journal revealed a hidden family secret: he had been part of an underground network helping people escape from dangerous situations, and his disappearance had been staged to protect his identity. The family had been threatened into secrecy for generations to protect the network’s members.
Isabelle’s heart raced as she uncovered the truth her grandmother had kept hidden all these years. As she read the last page of the journal, she understood why the family had been so silent about the past. Her great-great-grandfather had sacrificed everything to ensure future generations would live free of danger.
